Spain is also one of my top destination. I would choose Barcelona instead of Paris, London or Rome if you can only visit one European city.
It’s sad to hear the terror attack out at Las Ramblas few weeks ago but we are not afraid, isn’t it? Terror attack is everywhere now. We can’t predict where and when does it happen. This won’t stop us travelling anywhere.
Spain is very unique in many ways. The architecture there is so different that you see arts everywhere on every corner on the street. You don’t really need to see Gaudi to wow you but the buildings, the parks, the alley…… they all have their own character. However, Gaudi’s work are stunning and they is a must when you visit Barcelona.
Tapas! How can I skip tapas when I talk about Spain. There are so many different kinds to choose and you will definitely find some which you love. Spanish can have tapas anytime of the day which I think is brilliant! How about Paella? There are so many restaurants which make good Paella around the tourist area and that’s a must try. I love Las Ramblas, not just the food there but also by looking at it. It is so colourful and you feel the energy around you.
It’s very hard for people from North America to understand the transportation network in Europe because ours really sucks. In Europe, you don’t really need to worry about how are you going to go from point A to point B. The public transportation network is so mature that most people are taking public transportation. You don’t need to rent a car when you go around places.
Do you think it takes long time to fly to Europe? Actually it only takes 7h45m to fly from Toronto to Barcelona. It’s even faster than to go to Hawaii! Let’s explore Spain this fall. Inquire air + hotels or tour packages (Barcelona is also a big cruise port!) at http://www.travelgaga.ca
